Nestlé is the world's largest coffee producer, and its flagship brand, Nescafé, plays a significant role in this leadership.
Each year they source thousands of tons of coffee from farmers across the globe. The brand has a massive reach, and subsequently any investment into sustainable practices has a marked effect.
We partnered with their agency, The Publicis Group, to create a pool of video and photographic that would help tell the stories of their sustainability efforts in Vietnam.
We met with role-players throughout the supply chain, from the farms to the factories. People like farmers, pickers, agronomists, roasters, grinders, tasters, and engineers. These stories were told across different series, each of which took a unique perspective.
The Makers series looked at the individual roles each ‘Maker’ plays in the journey of coffee. The Community Voices stories looked at the impact that Nescafé’s initiatives within coffee production had on the broader communities.
All of the people featured were real, and so were their stories.
